In an effort to provide you with a safe and welcoming environment, and to comply with governmental mandates, we have implemented safety measures and protocols throughout the hotel.

The provincial Health Officer has introduced a new public health order covering the entire province to manage COVID-19 activity.

  • Masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces for people 5 years of age and older.
  • Low-intensity indoor group exercise is permitted to a maximum 10 people per class. High-intensity indoor group exercise is not permitted.
  • Outdoor group exercise is permitted up to 50 people per class. Gatherings in vacation rentals are limited to five guests or one additional household.
  • Indoor personal gatherings are limited to ten guests or one other household.
  • Outdoor personal gatherings (e.g. birthday parties, backyard BBQs, block parties) are limited to no more than 50 people.
  • Organized indoor gatherings (e.g. weddings, funerals, seated events) are limited to 50 people, and outdoor gatherings are limited to 100 people, both requiring a COVID-19 safety plan.


For the health and safety of fellow guests and staff, please do not visit:

  • If you live in a household with someone who has COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone sick/infected with COVID-19.

Before planning your stay we strongly advise all guests to refer to the BC Provincial Health Officer’s (PHO) province-wide restrictions and Interior Health’s COVID-19 information page. If you have traveled and are re-entering BC, please refer to the current Travel Guidelines.


Upon your arrival, it will be just a few more minutes before you can start enjoying all that Sun Peaks has to offer, and we appreciate your patience during this time.

Expect to see clear directional signage as well as our staff to guide you every step of the way. There will be clearly marked areas for guests to stand, and our check-in process will be as contactless as possible.

Please note that check in time is not guaranteed before 4:00 pm. Check out time is 11:00 am. We are currently not able to offer late check-out times; we require the additional cleaning time in preparation for our next guests. We regret that we are unable to provide valet parking at this time. However, self-parking is easy, quick, and accessible.


To ensure social distancing measures are effective, luggage assistance will not be offered at this time. Luggage carts will be cleaned and sanitized for your use, prior to your arrival.


In addition to the regular cleaning of your room, we’ve introduced an advanced oxidation process to service your room prior to your arrival. This process features a broad spectrum UV light and a quadmetallic target that combine to generate nature’s friendly oxidizers: hydroperoxides, hydroxides and super oxide ions, to kill microbes, reduce odors and gases, sanitize soft surfaces in the space.

The equipment we have recently invested in is being used at many hospitals in Canada.


Stay-over housekeeping service will not be offered at this time. Housekeeping staff will not enter your room during your stay unless specifically requested and they will only enter if you are not present in the room. Full housekeeping service will only be offered for stays 5 nights or longer, serviced on the 5th night. If you require any additional linens, bathroom amenities, or otherwise, please call us and we’d be happy to deliver it to your room.


The hotel will provide hand sanitizer stations at several areas throughout the hotel including front desk, entrances, and elevators. Additionally, all high touch surfaces in the Upper & Lower Lobby and Residences Lobby will be cleaned and sanitized frequently. Additional garbage/recycling receptacles have been placed in many locations.


Our food & beverage teams are ready to provide you with a safe and delicious dining experience.

We are abiding by the Provincial Health Order requiring individuals to show proof of vaccine. Individuals must have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to gain entry into our restaurants and be able to show government-approved proof of vaccination.

Effective October 24, 2021, individuals must be fully vaccinated (having received your second dose at least 7 days prior) and provide proof of vaccination to gain entry.

Out-of-province Canadian guests, please present provincially/territorially recognized immunization record and photo ID. International guests, please present proof of vaccination used to enter Canada along with a valid government photo ID.

Staff are required to wear face masks at all times. Like in all public spaces, guests must wear face masks while entering and exiting or moving around our restaurants. Seated at a table is the only acceptable “mask-free” scenario in our food & beverage facilities.   Physical distancing rules will be in place according to Worksafe BC policies outlined

In-Room dining is currently not available, however Take-Away is an option.

Entrance and Exit signs will be clearly marked. Physical distancing signage will be posted in multiple locations within the outlets.

The current maximum table size is six and tables may not be combined with other tables. Guests are asked to remain seated at their tables and not visit other tables. Bar seating will remain closed until physical distancing requirements are eased.


Group Size

We are happy to welcome intimate groups to our event spaces. Tables will be set with a maximum of six people per table and tables cannot be combined.

Social Distancing

We are providing larger meeting or function spaces to ensure physical distancing is easily attained. Some event set-ups will be altered, and table settings modified, all to provide safety for you, your attendees and our employees. Staff will wear gloves and face masks where appropriate and guests must wear masks in all event spaces unless seated at a dining table. Many event components previously offered, are currently unavailable due to health and safety protocols.

Arrival & Departure

Entrance and Exit signs will be clearly marked. At this time, all events must adhere to last call regulations of 10:00 pm and events must end by 11:00 pm


Our pool and hot tubs are open. Hours of operation are 8:00 am until 9:00 pm. Physical distancing protocols will be in place and we ask all guests to observe posted signage.


As you explore Sun Peaks, you will notice consistent signage across the resort that will provide guest instruction for physical distancing and mask policies. This may include entry to smaller shops and cafés as well as areas such as the SunBurst chairlift, where lines may form.


We have implemented new onboarding protocols for our employees, including a commitment to frequent hand washing, personal hygiene, as well as completion of health declarations. We are providing all necessary PPE to our employees and where appropriate, equipment use will be mandatory.

Finally, we are abiding by all Worksafe BC guidance for creating a safe environment for employees to perform their work. This includes the elimination or substitution of certain tasks and the implementation of new engineering and administrative controls. These policies are subject to change without notice under the guidance of the BC Provincial Health Office, BCCDC, and Work Safe BC.
