COVID-19 SAFETY PRACTICES
The Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and Conference Centre and the Residences at Sun Peaks is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our guests, staff and local residents. In an effort to provide you with a safe and welcoming environment we have implemented safety measures and protocols throughout the hotel.
CURRENT TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS
Please follow government recommendations and avoid non-essential travel within BC at this time. Sun Peaks Grand has the safety of guests, staff, and the local community as our top priority. Our full policies and procedures in conjunction with government recommendations can help ensure we all continue to recreate safely in the outdoors this winter. Mask up, get outside, and ski locally.
For the health and safety of fellow guests and staff, please do not visit:
- If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19. For symptom details visit BC Centre for Disease Control.
- If you have travelled outside of Canada and returned within the last 14 days. You are not be permitted to visit until you have self-isolated for 14 days.
- If you live in a household with someone who has COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone sick/infected with COVID-19.
Before planning your stay we strongly advise all guests to refer to the BC Provincial Health Officer’s (PHO) province-wide restrictions and Interior Health’s visitor information.
BE COOL. MASK UP!
Look, wearing a mask is slightly inconvenient, but it’s a small, yet highly effective way to keep yourself and others safe.
The health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority, and as such, we are following health expert guidelines recommending masks be worn at all times in public spaces.
This means that guests must wear masks that cover their nose and mouth in all public areas such as:
- Hotel Hallways and Lobbies
- Elevators and Stairwells
- Our Restaurants, Pub and Public Restrooms
- The Ski Valet and Shops
It’s really not that big a deal. Just be cool about it and wear a mask!
UPDATE December 27, 2020
In the past two days, due to the proactive work of our hotel team alongside community resources, we have been informed about 4 cases of COVID-19 within staff members at the Sun Peaks Grand. All cases are related to social interactions outside the workplace and no guests have been impacted at this time. The 4 cases and associated close contacts are currently in self isolation.
The health and safety of our staff, guests, and community is the top priority now and always. While we are in communication with health authorities on all protocols, we have diligently prepared for this type of scenario over the past nine months and have robust policies and procedures in place to effectively manage the situation. Outdoor recreation at Sun Peaks continues to be considered safe for anyone following public health direction such as physical distancing, wearing a face covering, and staying home when unwell.
We will continue to update the community if and as required as part of our commitment to transparency and communication during these challenging times.
Please download our Safety Guide for all our policies and procedures.
